Vestar’s acquisitions team identifies attractive potential acquisition opportunities in major metropolitan markets throughout the western U.S. Our team works closely with our in-house leasing, marketing, construction, property management, legal and finance professionals to ensure that all aspects of the initial underwriting, due diligence and closing processes are completed with the highest level of expertise, professionalism, and efficiency.

Vestar relies on its broad array of retail tenant relationships to help identify properties which meet its acquisition criteria and fit well with our existing portfolio. We also work closely with our lenders and capital partners, in addition to the real estate brokerage community, to source opportunities.

Vestar acquires all types of open-air retail properties including neighborhood, community, lifestyle, entertainment and power centers that range in size from 100,000 to over 1,000,000 million square feet. Over the past three years, our firm has completed over $1 billion in acquisitions throughout the western U.S. These transactions have been capitalized with traditional first mortgage financing and equity provided from a combination of Vestar principals and third-party institutional capital.

In 2014, Vestar was recognized as the 4th largest acquirer of shopping centers in the United States.
